Hello Students and Parents/Guardians,

The Yukon High School Chapter of National Honor Society is excited to announce our annual Invitation to Apply for Membership in NHS. In order to receive an invitation students must meet the following criteria: 1) be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior; and 2) have a weighted, unrounded, cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher for ALL years in high school (starting in 9th grade). Unfortunately, according to the rules set forth by the national chapter, Freshmen are not eligible.

***The invitations to apply will be emailed to the student's YHS email and parents/guardians email address no later than 9/26 (hopefully sooner).*** The application window will be open until the end of the school day (3:30 PM) on Thursday, 10/9/25. There will NOT be an extension to this deadline. Acceptance emails will be sent to students and parents/guardians on Friday 10/10/25. Please be aware that this will be the last communication that will be sent to parents/guardians regarding NHS.

This year we will be having an NHS Candidate (New Member) Information Meeting on Tuesday, 10/7/25 at 5:30 PM in the YHS Library. This meeting will discuss the application process, Candidacy requirements, and Induction in the spring.

Once applications have been reviewed and candidates selected, there will be a Rethink session for students on Thursday, 10/23/25 with a make-up meeting on Wednesday, 10/22/25 (3:30 in the Library) to go over the Candidate expectations with students.

Please understand that there will be approximately 400 invitations being sent out. If you have any questions you may email me (though it may take several days for me to respond), but I highly encourage you to attend the Parent Meeting on the 7th.

There's nothing better than being able to bring your favorite stuffed animal to school! Yesterday at Central our students had the chance to bring their very own plushie from home. It was so fun getting to see who brought what and why it was special to them. 🧸👏

Senator Jack Stewart visited Ranchwood Elementary to read to our 2nd and 3rd graders! We loved having you as our special guest, Senator! Thank you for stopping by!

YHS Pep Assembly is Friday, September 5th at 9:10am in the Main Gym! The modified bell schedule has been emailed to students. Go Millers!

Congratulations to our recent graduates. Today was diploma pick up day- their hard work has paid off and are officially ready to go on their next journey. We are cheering them on!

Our amazing Millers are starting their summer off strong visiting the Book Bus on its first route!! We are so proud of these learners! We hope to see you this summer! ☀️📚❤️

Our YHS Winter Guard held a fundraiser raffle partnered with Kate Myers from Beef for the Bank nonprofit (Lomega FFA). Through their fundraising, they helped donate 100+lbs of beef to the Mana Pantry and also helped raise much needed funds for the Winter Guard program! They helped deliver and organize the beef during their Spring Break. We are so proud of these girls! Way to go, Millers! #YPSProud #GoMillers

Shedeck Millers had some surprise visitors in their P.E. Class on Tuesday! Yukon High School Athletes joined in an ultimate game of dodgeball with our elementary students! We love how much fun everyone had! #YPSProud #GoMillers

Light, Camera, Action! 📷 The Independence Living Museum rolled out the red carpet and welcomed over 30 famous individuals before the break! Mrs. Thompson and Ms. Easter’s 4th grade ELA classes chose famous individuals of their choice to research and present with their fellow classmates and their parents/guardians! We are so proud of them and the hard work they put into this!

Our YPS Transportation Team is giving back! Each semester, our YPS Transportation team chooses a school to raise money for to help wipe out the negative balance on student's lunch accounts! They work so hard to help our students. This is just one of the ways they go above and beyond! Last semester, they donated $380 to go towards student’s lunch balances at Ranchwood Elementary! Thank you, YPS Transportation!
