Melissa Barlow

Principal

Mrs. Barlow is in her 14th year as Principal of Yukon High School and has served in education for more than 20 years. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mrs. Barlow taught middle school and high school science and math and also served as an assistant principal at YHS.

Mrs. Barlow is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma. A proud Yukon High School alumna, she is honored to serve her hometown community. When asked about her approach to leadership, Mrs. Barlow shared, “I believe strong relationships and collaboration among educators are essential to supporting individual student success. My goal is to create a culture where all students feel valued, supported, and prepared for their future beyond high school.”

In 2021, Mrs. Barlow was named the Oklahoma High School Principal of the Year. Outside of school, Mrs. Barlow enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and being outdoors.

Michael Perez

Assistant Principal

With nine years of experience in education—eight of which have been dedicated to the students and staff of Yukon High School—Mr. Perez is honored to serve the Yukon Public School community. Prior to entering administration, Mr. Perez taught Spanish levels 1-4 and also served as a football and soccer coach. A proud alumnus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Mr. Perez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature as well as a Master’s degree in Education Administration. As a passionate educator, he is committed to fostering an environment where academic excellence meets strong interpersonal connections. Mr. Perez believes that the heart of a successful school lies in the strength of its relationships with students and their families.

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Kesler brings 18 years of experience in education, currently in her eighth year as an administrator. Her foundational decade in the classroom was spent teaching Biology and Spanish (levels I through AP), which provided her with a diverse instructional background. A long-standing member of the Yukon High School community, Mrs. Kesler has spent sixteen years of her career serving its students and staff. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys traveling, visiting Disney, and reading, but most of all, she values time spent with her husband and three daughters.

Rebecca Middaugh

Assistant Principal

Ms. Middaugh has been an educator for 14 years and has called Yukon High School home for the past 11. Before transitioning into administration, she taught English at both Yukon High School and in her home state of Missouri. She holds degrees from Westminster College and Concordia University. What she loves most about being an educator is helping students recognize their own worth and strengths. Outside of school, Ms. Middaugh is an avid reader, a nature enthusiast, a wife, and most importantly, a proud mother to her daughter.

Natalie Haworth

Assistant Principal

Natalie Haworth serves as an Assistant Principal at Yukon High School and is committed to student success, staff collaboration, and fostering a positive school culture. She spent 8 years in the classroom teaching a variety of science courses before moving to Yukon and stepping into her role as an Assistant Principal. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Ms. Haworth values open communication and collaboration with families and the community and is dedicated to ensuring Yukon High School remains a place of academic excellence, personal growth, and school pride.

Outside of school, Ms. Haworth enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and staying connected to the Yukon community. She is proud to serve the students, staff, and families of Yukon High School.

Steve Hunt

Assistant Principal

Steve Hunt is an experienced educator currently in his 28th year in education and his 11th year at Yukon High School. He brings decades of dedication, knowledge, and commitment to student success. Mr. Hunt is proud to be part of the Yukon High School community and continues to focus on fostering academic growth and positive relationships with students and colleagues.  

Originally from California, Mr. Hunt earned his degree from Sacramento State University in Sacramento, California. Before moving into administration, Mr. Hunt taught Chemistry and Biology, building a strong foundation in science education. When not at work, Mr. Hunt enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two children.

Mr. Collins has seven years of experience in education. Prior to entering school administration, he served as a high school science teacher and football coach. Mr. Collins earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Governors University and his master’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Mr. Collins is committed to providing positive interactions and meaningful experiences for all individuals within the school community. He is passionate about building strong relationships, fostering a supportive school culture, and encouraging others through positive leadership. In his free time, Mr. Collins enjoys spending time with his family.
